Mother Marie leads you to the Convent of the Little Cloister, a center for resistance activities which she and some priests have organized in Paris. For a few days, at least, you can stay here, hidden among the friendly nuns, well-fed and cared for. But you know that this is only a temporary refuge; you've got to find another place.

You approach Mother Marie with this problem, but she has already thought about it and has a solution. Among other documents she provides you is a new identity card. It is the card of a member of the Savigny family who was killed early in the war and whose baptism is recorded in this parish. The family is willing to have you stay with them. The Germans do not yet know of this death. You'll be safe.

However, you're afraid that too many neighbors will remember the members of the family, and one of them might give you away. The risk is very great.
