Having made contact with the Italian resistance, you are assigned to help Ada Sereni. Her husband, Enzo, had broadcast radio encouragement to the Jews and resistance members in Italy, but he was captured and eventually executed in Dachau. You help his widow to continue his work. Neither your German nor your Yiddish is of any help since Italian Jews speak neither language. You content yourself with carrying the equipment and grinding the handles of the portable generator while Mrs. Sereni makes the actual broadcasts.
When the war ends, you must decide where to start your life again. You can make aliyah and live in Eretz Yisrael, or you can find your place in the Diaspora.
If you decide to become part of the new Jewish state, continue to page 141.
If you choose to stay in Italy, hoping to improve the quality of Jewish life there, continue to page 132.
